The Clement Town Cantonment features a state-of-the-art, high-tech water supply scheme designed to provide safe, treated, and sustainable drinking water directly to residents.

Sanctioned by the Ministry of Defence in March 2018, the project’s foundation stone was laid in March 2019 by the then Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. The project was successfully completed within two years and dedicated to the public on 22nd June 2021. Executed by the Uttarakhand Government’s Peyjal Awas Vikas Nigam, this scheme marks a shift from manual dependency on hand pumps/borewells to an institutionalized, treated water network.

Key Highlights

• Project Cost: Developed at a total cost of ₹15.62 Crores.

• Coverage: Designed to benefit a population of approximately 15,000 citizens.

• Household Connections: Aligning with the Government of India’s ‘Har Ghar Jal’ policy, the scheme delivers piped water connections to around 2,500 homes.

• 24×7 Supply: The infrastructure is proposed and engineered to ensure continuous 24×7 water supply.

Technical Infrastructure & Smart Automation

The entire network runs on an advanced, automated system that leverages modern technology for seamless management:

• Storage Capacity: Features a massive Overhead Tank (OHT) with a capacity of 1,400 KL.

• Production Units: Equipped with 2 Tube wells and 2 Pump Houses.

• Distribution Network: Approximately 26 kilometers of robust pipelines have been laid across the civil areas to ensure complete reach.
